Internal and External applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacancy in the Maintenance Department at Zwartkopjes Pumping Station.
WORKSHOP ASSISTANT – PLUMBER
(A2– BAND) OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
To take instructions and ensure that all day to day maintenance work related to the plumbing trade on buildings, property, recreational areas and residential property, including the preparation of all equipment, materials and tools as delegation of to the assistant is according to Rand Water standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES
To work independently and individually in attending to all day to day plumbing work
To do all daily, monthly and annual scheduled plumbing maintenance task.
Investigate and repair all breakdowns and work overtime when required
Manage allocated section of plant/site
Maintaining of work standards and ensuring legal and safety compliance
Check equipment after maintenance is performed
Complete all schedules, defects and paperwork, instruction etc.
Carry out other tasks as delegated by the supervisor from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 or Equivalen
t Plumbing Level 2 Certificate
2 years experience in the plumbing field
Code EB drivers license
Safety Training will be an advantage
Working on heights, confined spaces and in poorly ventilated areas, shoring and working with machinery
COMPETENCY PROFILE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS BEHAVIOUR
Knowledge of OHS Act and its application
Operation of equipment and machinery associated with Pluming field
Written and Verbal communication skills
Administrative Skills
Analytical Skills to do fault finding
Safety Consciousness
Attentive detail and deadline orientated
