Job Description: The purpose of this position is to provide competent, and efficient clinical procedures at an advanced level under the supervision of a professional nurse.
Responsibilities:
Clinical procedures and related activities as required in the day-to-day implementation of research studies.
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the South African Nursing Council Code of Conduct, and align with the Aurum Institute’s core values.
Provide comprehensive, safe and effective evidence based clinical procedures to achieve identified health outcomes.
Conduct telephonic follow up visits.
Trace participants according to study logs and procedures.
Do home visits where required, according to the study SOP.
Lead the retention activities especially for participants who have open windows for telephonic visits.
Recognise and uphold the rights of all clients accessing health services and advocate on their behalf. This also includes maintaining cultural sensitivity.
Plan and evaluate clinical procedures in consultation with the multidisciplinary team and patients/ clients using effective interpersonal communication.
Provide high level communication skills that include: interpersonal, verbal, written, computer, and ability to work cohesively as an active member of the multidisciplinary team.
Carry out nursing practice in accordance with Legislation, Common Law and Code of Ethics; and take action to rectify unsafe nursing practice and/or unprofessional conduct.
Requirements
Education:
Minimum Requirements:
Enrolled Nursing certificate or equivalent qualification
Valid registration with South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse
GCP trained
Experience:
Minimum of two years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years’ experience in clinically research and/or HIV/Aids and TB related work
3 years’ experience in primary data collection in the clinical or public Health Research field
Advantageous
Valid Driver’s Licence
Provider initiated counselling
HIV/Aids certificate
Other:
Own car
Valid Drivers’ license
Knowledge of Legislation
Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and TB
Ability to work under pressure
