TB HIV Care seeks diligent and experienced Nurse Coordinator that is passionate about providing quality health care services to communities for our tuberculosis (TB), HIV and non-communicable diseases programme in Khayelitsha.
The purpose of these roles is to work in the Home and Community Based Care programmes (HCBC) of TB HIV Care at sub-district level and form part of the greater comprehensive TB, HIV prevention programme and management of non-communicable diseases. This is a half day position (4, 5 hours per day). These are contracts positions in line with funding.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree / diploma or relevant Nursing qualification
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Primary Health Care setting or Community Nursing
Be able to speak 2 x South African languages (English and isiXhosa)
Computer literate in MS office
Valid code 8 driver's license
Must reside in the community as mentioned above and have good knowledge of the surrounding area
Key Performance Areas:
Manage the service delivery to patients within the assigned sub-district and surrounding communities
Manage the activities of the Community Health Workers in line with the service package
Maintains a healthy and positive relationship with the sub-District Managers and Facility Managers; develops partnerships and working relationships with community structures, NGO's community leaders, political representatives and Provincial Government representatives
Provide mentorship to community home based care workers, this would include observation; identifying gaps and providing the necessary feedback
Collaborate with community role players in engaging communities in scaling up of communicable and non-communicable diseases service provision
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
A team leader and team player, able to work in multi-disciplinary teams

Understanding of management within public health systems
Good supervisory and management skills
Flexible and innovative
Good communication, interpersonal and conflict management
Non-judgmental, trustworthy and empathetic
